Georgia Craftsman of North Georgia

We’re thrilled to share a recent service project: assisting with the siding, roof, and door of the well house for our bishops farm well house. This labor of love allowed us to give back to the community while showcasing our craftsmanship. The bishop provided leftover materials from his home build the previous year, which we eagerly repurposed to complete the task. Working with these resources, we carefully selected and prepped the wood for the door, ensuring a durable, polished finish that complements the well house’s cozy cottage aesthetic.
This was a true team effort, blending skill with a deep sense of purpose. Over a few days, we measured, cut, and installed the siding, transforming the well house into a sturdy, attractive structure. The experience of supporting our bishop has been humbling, and we’re grateful for the opportunity.
The project gained extra meaning as the bishop planned his daughter’s wedding ceremony on his property in Ellijay, GA, and wanted the well house atop the hill restored for the occasion. Though the saying goes “April showers bring May flowers,” we tackled this in April, often working through storms. Despite the weather, it wasn’t too challenging. We designed the roof so that it could be removed later on and put back on for the purpose of changing large filters. The bishop kindly allowed me to camp creekside, saving me a long commute, and I set up next to a beautiful creek running through the property. We completed the project the week before the ceremony, and we’re honored to have contributed to such a special event.
In a gesture of his kindness and commitment to helping those around him, the bishop gifted us a cargo trailer for the labor we put forth. He had owned the trailer for some time and wasn’t using it anymore, insisting it go to good use. Since then, it has become a valuable asset to our business, further strengthening our appreciation for his generosity.
We will be building some goat feeders for the bishop in the next few weeks and we will post an update on this post that work on here as well when we start those projects.
