We kicked off the project by carefully removing old railroad ties from the embankment’s edge, clearing the way for sturdy footings to support the new steps. Next, we reshaped the site to make room for a solid retaining wall, then dug out the footings. The ground revealed North Georgia’s stunning shale rock, sparkling in the sunlight, which our jackhammer sliced through with ease—a reminder of the beauty and strength in the land we build on. We went a bit beyond our planned 12″x16″ footings, to allow pouring one and a half 80-pound bags of concrete per hole to ensure rock-solid stability. This not only supports the deck’s load but exceeds county code standards, giving both our team and the Blue Ridge inspector confidence in a foundation built to last. Next up: Footing inspections, stay tuned and we will have an update on this project shortly.

Trex Deck Update: Footings Poured!
7/2/25

Man, what a day! We hit the ground running this morning to pour the footings for the Trex deck, and let me tell you, the heat and humidity were no joke—felt like we were working in a sauna! Big shoutout to our awesome customers who went above and beyond, bailing out water from the holes after last night’s downpour. That saved us some serious time and kept the project on track.
We got the concrete poured smooth and solid, setting the foundation for this beautiful deck. Before heading back to Jasper, we hung out with the customers for a bit—great folks, great vibes. Always cool to connect and share the excitement for what’s coming together. Stay tuned for the next steps as we keep building this deck! 💪

Trex Deck Update: Grading the Lot for Patios and Walls!
7/10/25

The Trex deck project is charging forward, and this week, we tackled a big step to bring this vision to life! The customers upped the ante by adding double paver patios and pergolas to the deck plans, so we shifted gears to make it all come together. To set the stage for those patios and some sturdy retaining walls, we spent the last two days grinding it out in the North Georgia heat—grading the lot and prepping the ground with a compact machine.
Despite the sticky humidity and scorching sun, we got the area leveled and ready, ensuring a solid base for those patios and walls. The footings we poured last week are set, and with the lot now prepped, we’re ready to dive into framing the deck next. It’s awesome to see this project take shape, and we’re grateful for customers who share our passion for quality craftsmanship. Stay tuned for more as we frame this beast and bring those patios to life! 💪

Blue Ridge Deck Project: Progress Update for July 14-15, 2025
The past two days have been packed with progress on the Blue Ridge Deck Project as we push forward with the pergola installation and site preparation. Here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve accomplished:
July 14, 2025: Prepping the Groundwork
Yesterday, we focused on preparing the site for the next stages of construction. The team completed the finish grading prep, ensuring the ground is level and ready for the deck and pergola. We also carefully marked out the locations for the pergola footings, double-checking measurements to guarantee precision for a sturdy and balanced structure. It was a long day of meticulous work, but the site is now primed for the next steps.
July 15, 2025: Digging In
Today, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work digging the pergola footings. With the locations marked, we excavated each footing to the required depth, ensuring proper alignment and stability for the pergola posts. The team worked efficiently despite the summer heat, and we’re thrilled with how smoothly the process went. By the end of the day, all footings were dug and ready for the next phase.
Looking Ahead: July 16, 2025
Tomorrow, we’re set to pour the concrete for the pergola footings. This step is critical for locking in the foundation of the pergola, and we’re excited to see this feature start to take shape. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bring this outdoor space to life!
Thanks for following along on the Blue Ridge Deck Project journey. Check back tomorrow for photos and details on the concrete pour!

Blue Ridge Deck Project: Update for July 21, 2025
Good evening, deck enthusiasts! We’re back with another exciting update from the Blue Ridge Deck Project. Today, July 21, 2025, we made significant strides in shaping the foundation of this outdoor oasis.
Progress Report: Retaining Wall and Drainage
The team hit the ground running this morning, kicking off the installation of the first run of retaining wall timbers. These timbers are crucial for defining the structure of the deck area, providing both stability and aesthetic appeal. We carefully positioned and secured the initial layer, ensuring everything is level and aligned for the subsequent runs. It’s amazing to see the space start to take shape!
Alongside the retaining wall work, we successfully installed the drainage system. This system is designed to manage water runoff effectively, protecting the deck and surrounding area from potential erosion or water damage. With the drainage in place, we’re setting the stage for a durable and long-lasting outdoor space.
What’s Next?
Tomorrow, we plan to continue building up the retaining wall and start prepping for the next phase of the deck’s foundation. Stay tuned for more updates as we keep pushing forward!
Thank you for following the Blue Ridge Deck Project. We’ll be back with more progress reports and photos soon!
Blue Ridge Deck Project:

The Blue Ridge Deck is coming together nicely! This week, we finalized the retaining wall and drainage system, establishing a rock-solid foundation. Our team has made great progress on the deck framing, with 10 tons of gravel already laid down to prep the base. This upcoming week, we’ll complete the deck framing and begin framing the pergolas. Once both are finished, we’ll add 10 tons of granite dust to create the perfect surface for the stunning white 24″x24″ & 6″x24″ Landmark porcelain tiles. This outdoor retreat is shaping up to be spectacular! Stay tuned for more progress.
What’s Next: Deck framing wraps up, pergola framing begins, followed by granite dust prep and tile installation for a beautiful outdoor oasis!
